The Effects of Adding Dynamic Assessment Components to a Computerized Preschool Language Screening TestUniversity of Nebraska at Omaha Currently available screening tools and procedures are lacking in one or more of the criteria necessary for early identification of potential language impairment in children from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds. This article addresses the need to (a) explore the effectiveness of a new version of KIDTALK with preschoolers, including an additional ethnic/ linguistic group in the sample, and (b) determine the utility of adding more dynamic assessment features to the test. Results warranted further enhancement of this tool by incorporating dynamic assessment components throughout the test and continued investigation of its validity with culturally and linguistically diverse preschoolers.
