Television-Assisted Assessment of Communication SkillsColorado State University Fort Collins, CO This paper describes an assessment procedure which employed television in the clinical evaluation of an unintelligible preschool child referred for speech-language evaluation. Taking advantage of a preschooler's familiarity with and interest in television, an extended sample of clinical communication and linguistic skills was elicited from an otherwise noninteractive youngster.
