Therapeutic Management of Speech Disorders Associated With Velopharyngeal Incompetence

There are numerous controversies related to management of speech disorders in clients presenting velopharyngeal incompetence. Several issues are discussed in developing a rationale for the treatment protocol described in this article. Presented in the protocol are seven conditions under which treatment may vary. Techniques for management in each condition are described.
